Bye bye Green pasture

We started off our day with a good ole breakfast before 8:30 am. We then took a van to Green pasture hospital for our second and final day there. We started the morning devotions at the hospital with a Calvin led morning devotion. Afterwards, we split off into multiple groups to visit the different wards. The groups visited rehab, cardiac rehabilitation, palliative care, and leprosy.

After rounds we went to a really awesome cafe that Professor Sinniah had found!! The cafe had egg sandwiches, cake doughnuts, and Fanta!!!! After our lunch it was back to green pastures where we got a little more time with the docs before we headed off to a meeting as a group with Sarah Riggsbee, a speech therapist, who also organized our trip to the hospital. We were very grateful to her and to her husband, Dr Josh, who welcomed our team to Green Pastures and provided us with many opportunities to observe care in this unique rehabilitation hospital.

After this meeting we met briefly with Dr. Suraj, an amazing plastic surgeon, to take a group photo. Many students were able to shadow him during our stay, and a few were able to observe a skin grafting as well.

Back to the hotel we went for a little respite from the 90 degree heat before we went back out shopping. During our little shopping spree we stopped for dinner at the restaurant, Boomerang, where we met with some pretty cool UK medical doctors we met in Tansen.

The restaurant had dancing, music, and a sick ambience. On our way back to the hotel we went on another shopping party. We arrived back at the hotel to pack and get ready for what will be an amazing trek tomorrow. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more adventures from Nepal.
