What a wonderful day in Tansen

This morning we were gifted a very late breakfast at 7:30! Following breakfast, a group of us participated in a stretching session where some of the group could touch the ground with ease while others including myself were almost as flexible but could barely reach past our knees.

After our morning stretches, we got a wonderful tour of the hospital and were able to see the different wards. We will be rotating on pediatrics, medical, surgery, and orthopedic. During our tour we got introduced to our new favorite way to have a work break, Tea time!

After Tea time, there was a split in the group with the nursing majors meeting with the Head of the nursing school and the rest of us having no fun without them. But don’t worry….

The nursing majors came back and fun started all over again and we played card games during our free time.

This fun briefly came to halt while our guest house manager took care of a hairy intruder in one of the bathrooms.

Later in the day we took a tour of the beautiful city of Tansen in the rain. The tour was short but had a Lassi stop, one of our new favorite drinks. To end the tour, we went to a church service with some of the locals where we worshipped, prayed and played games. This was a meaningful experience for many in our group, as we got to engage with Nepali Christians and learn about the challenges they faced as Christians.

To end a wonderful day in Tansen, we had a meal with a physician couple from Australia where we got to ask many many questions and they graciously answered them all fully.

  1. Make sure Ganesh knows he’s the best! And say hi to Dr. Daniel, Dr. Danny, and D. Rohit!

    1. Dr Daniel said it will take him years to get up to your speed and he will have to be running daily. Dr. Danny is back in Texas.

  2. These posts are just so much fun to read! The video made me jump too. What an amazing trip you all are on!
